Aid for Holocaust Survivors Living in the United States
The Times of Israel reports that the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) will distribute some $4.6 million in federal funds for Holocaust survivors. Combined with matching grants, the funding will result in $6.7 million in programming for Holocaust survivor services.
More than 100,000 Holocaust survivors live in the United States, about a third of whom live in poverty. In contrast, Israel is home to about 220,800 Holocaust survivors.
