WATCH LIVE: Holocaust Museum to Hold 2019 International Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration on January 25
On January 25, 2019, the US Holocaust Memorial Museum will conduct its 2019 International Holocaust Remembrance Day Commemoration.
The Museum’s ceremony will feature remarks by Emily Haber, ambassador of Germany to the United States, reflections from Holocaust survivor Louise Lawrence-Israëls, a prayer of remembrance by Holocaust survivor Harry Markowicz, and a musical interlude by Holocaust survivor Jacqueline Mendels Birn.
International Holocaust Remembrance Day (January 27) was created by the United Nations General Assembly in 2005. The date marks the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and is meant to honor the victims of Nazism.
